Written in 1949, this was Yockey's manifesto for his then newly formed group, the European Liberation Front. As such, it distills the ideas developed in his neo-Spenglerian magnum opus, the 600-page Imperium. The Proclamation was initially circulated in pamphlet form, and as have the few, fugacious re-prints that appeared in the decades following. With our memorial edition this will be the first time that this important text, unique in the English language, appears in a durable, library-grade format, for the benefit of Yockeyist, collectors, and researchers alike. It will come with a major introductory essay by Michael O'Meara, along with Kerry Bolton the world's leading Yockeyist. It will also come with illustrated sections, dozens of footnotes, a detailed index, and cover artwork by Alex Kurtagic, who also did the covers for the Lothrop Stoddard editions featured on this page's left-hand panel.

"A millennium of European history, of joy and sacrifice, of heroism and nobility, impel us to our task." (page 69).

Francis Parker Yockey: brilliant author and enigma of US radical politics. A man that burned the candle in both ends throughout his life on the move across the world in furtherance of his cause of the soon to come European Imperium, yet in the end found dead in a San Francisco prison cell after capture due to something as silly as a falsified passport, and today largely forgotten by the mainstream. His life reads like a great crime novel, and it was a marvellous life lived to the fullest, if one is to believe what we today know of him. For those that want to jump straight to the biographical details of this enigma, there is in fact a huge biography out there that is a fantastic mishmash of information on both Yockey and the circles he was involved with: Dreamer of the Day: Francis Parker Yockey and the Postwar Fascist International. It would seem that 2012 will be a year of Yockey-revival, for unknown reasons: all his writings will be published with lengthy introductions in sturdy luxurious editions, it would seem from the grapevine on the internet. This volume is a first step in that direction, and boy is it a successful one. Publisher Wermod & Wermod (known for books such as The Revolt Against Civilization: The Menace of the Under-man and Mister) is really onto something with their line of books: sturdy binding, footnotes, alluring cover art, introductions by some of the greatest experts in the world on the subjects at hand, and not to mention their will to republish forgotten classics, such as this book. The lengthy introduction is written by no less than expert upon Yockey with quite a name for himself too: Dr. Michael O'Meara, author of two classics of his own that with benefits could be read along with this book; New Culture, New Right: Anti-Liberalism in Postmodern Europe and Toward the White Republic. The essay of O'Meara is almost longer than the text by Yockey, and is a pure delight to read, putting Yockey into the proper context of post-war Europe and the at the time relatively intense Cold War.

The book is divided into three parts, the first detailing Yockey and his "ELF" with their historical background , the second chronicling the current chaos of Europe (if he thought Europe was chaos back in the postwar period, he should see it in 2012, I thought to myself humorously!) and the last part explaining the historical mission of the "men among the ruins", to use the phrase of another of Yockey's ilk, baron Julius Evola, found in a book he wrote on the subject: Men Among the Ruins: Post-War Reflections of a Radical Traditionalist. Interestingly, you can find several essays and even a video (!) of Evola's take on Yockey and his legacy available on the net. "The proclamation of London" is a fine book, and if you don't have the time or the mental stamina to complete Yockey's massive magnum opus, Imperium (which is coming in several luxurious editions later this year, we are told), then this short volume should be serving your needs. The book reminded me a lot of Guillaume Faye's Archeofuturism, and that book too could well be read alongside this shorter volume, as they complement each other nicely with their 50 year gap of publication. An European imperium stretching from the Azores to Vladivostok, from Malta to Svalbard, soaked in the high- and folk cultures of Europe and her many peoples: an ethno-pluralist vision of splendour: doesn't that sound alluring? It certainly does to European old me, at least, and there are room for plenty more in the ship that is sailing towards this goal, now that we are seeing the old world crumble beneath an ailing West: reading this book could well be the first step up the plank on-board our vessel of dreams (for now).

Five stars for this philosophical and ideological classic from that most European of Americans: Francis Parker Yockey!
